No Anna I still love taking pictures of birds but I have not had a chance to get out lately.
Good luck Kathy. Myself my wife Charlie and Brad seen another really tall but skinny one @ 4am on STP on the way to the trail. Its was in the road so I had to stop quick.

Yes, we were on route 302 heading west up towards Crawford Notch. The moose was walking down the right lane. Chris had to stop quickly - then went slowly and passed on the left. I do not recall him turning his blinker on though.

I love the moose shots and this is an awesome one. He looks like a big bull. How tall do you think he was?

I'm convinced seeing a moose is like watching water boil. If you aren't looking for one, they show up. If you are, you never see one. Well, my wife and I have been hoping to see a moose for a few years now, each and every time we head up north. And we never see one. Anyone have any secrets on how to catch a glimpse?

Your right Brad no blinker LOL. He was big but I have seen alot bigger. I think his back was about 5 to 5-1/2 feet tall. It is amazing to see such a beautiful animal. I could sit and watch them forever.

Have a great trip up north Kathy! Hope you get to see more than one moose. My friend who dropped us off at the Jewell Trail on Sat morning said that on his way back across the Jefferson Notch Road had a big bull standing right in the road and wouldn't move until he beeped the horn. So it sounds like there are a lot of moose for you to see. Let us know how your trip went. :-)

Having a great time here so far, on the way up we stopped in Meradith to get some Anna Lee dolls of course. I packed some sandwiches so we had lunch at Lake Winnipesaukee right on the water, very pretty and relaxing. Spent Thursday night walking around town then went to the swing concert at Mt. Cranmore, not my favorite choice but was fun to people watch and just enjoy the night.

Yesterday had a great breakfast at the Blue Berry Muffin, walked to Settlers green to buy some more treasures (only two hrs.), then spent the entire afternoon at Echo Lake, what great day of doing nothing. I have to say the lakes I've gone to in NJ cannot compare, everything was CLEAN, the people, the lake and even the changing and restrooms, WOW!!! I wanted to take the trail up to the ledge, the guy said only 1 hr. up, but no one wanted to go with me and I didn't want to go alone. Had a great dinner at Delaneys
the ribs there are always amazing!! Today planning to spend the day at the Albany Covered Bridge at the Swift River....

I LOVE IT HERE!!!

We drove by the same spot yesterday - and looked - drove slowly - and looked. But, they were not there.
