I walked the trail around the lake and took this picture of a mushroom, no idea why, lol.

I came across this little guy who wasn't afraid, I was so excited that I couldn't adjust my camera to get a good shot. He heard something and took off... :( Would have been a great pic for me.

We spent the second day at the Albany bridge on the Swift River, one of my very favorite spots.

I'm going back up Columbus Day weekend to check out the Fryburg Fair, I can't wait!!!

Nice photos Kathy. Glad your trip to NH was a nice time.:) Have fun at the Fryeburg Fair. I have to get up to the Fair one of these years.

The Fair always starts the weekend I am off in England. But, I hope to get to the Fair later in the week.

Everyone loves Monday - Woodsman Day. Lots of crowds but it is a fantastic day. Tractor pulls, horse pulls, oxen pulls are fun. Roaming through the stables to see the kids' animals is fun. The kids are so proud.

Your photos are terrific and they capture the delight you felt with all that you encountered, be it sweeping landscape vistas, or smaller things like mushrooms.

Hey, when you're at the Fryeburg Fair, you're only about a 20 minute drive to the trailheads for Pleasant Mountain. So, you might want to give that a try if the weather is nice, and you're so inclined! If you don't have a personal copy of AMC's Maine Mountain Guide, perhaps you can borrow a copy from a friend or from your library. This guidebook has all the details about the various hiking options to Pleasant Mountain.

Kathy-and you're always saying you wish you could take better pictures-you did a great job with these!! I felt like I was on the trip with you.Glad you had such a good time.A so-so day up North is better then a good day most other places.:p

Brad: I won't make Monday, we are driving up on the 7th and leaving the 10th.

Patrick, I am totally in Love with the White Mountians. There is just never enough time up there...
