Hi everyone,

You're still a few weeks away from receiving the fleece. They have been ordered, I'm waiting on a delivery date from Bean & will post here when I have it. They've turned them around quickly in prior years so hopefully soon. Thanks for your patience!

Well guys, maybe they will arrive in time for the debrief at Annie Bailey's Irish Pub.

That would be nice! We should do a debriefing. And perhaps more STPers/forum members would like to attend? The more, the merrier!:)

I'm waiting for the blue one. Besides, down here in SE PA, we don't really need jackets until the beginning of Nov.

Charlie, you may be the first person to post a picture of what they look like.:)

CHRIS

I got mine today about 5:30. We were making supper and I seen the UPS pull up and I asked my wife if she was expecting anything and she said no so I ran outside and seen the box in his hands saying LL Bean and I knew. I got my fleece and will be proudly wearing it on the summit tomorrow.

Charlie,
Last years fleece was awesome because it represents the event and the cause....this year the fleece looks half naked.
It shows just an event....not the reason I tramped the streets! LOL
If it was about more money being spent on the fleece I would have tossed up the extra money.
I am really curious why the MWOBS was left out.
I guess I should be happy....next year it may be just the fleece?

Where's the 'Jealousy' emoticon?

Snow Miser
09-26-2010, 11:27 AM
I agree with Kendra, it does look half naked without the MWOBS logo on the left side. With, or without though, I can't wait until the backordered ones ship.

BTW, we do need a "Jealousy" emoticon. :D

I love my fleece as you can see I already brought it to the summit but I would like to know also why MWO is not shown anywhere on it. If they could not put it on the pocket (which should not be a problem) they could have at least put Mount Washington under the STP.

My fleece arrived on Friday!

I really like the color. As my wife can attest, as I removed it from the bag I said...something is different, I had to pull out last years fleece to figure out that it was the OBS logo. To bad...though I will still wear it with pride!!!

Hi everyone,

I was just looking through some of the posts and am glad to see some of you have received the fleece jackets. Hopefully Bean can deliver on the backordered ones soon. The Observatory logo was left off the jacket this year because this model features a zippered pocket on one side of the chest, so Bean can't embroider on that side. Given that so many of you have now earned the jacket 3 years in a row I try and keep the color & style "new", which was difficult with Beans limited availability this year. I hope you're not too disappointed, and for next year I'll be sure to include both logos. Thanks very much for your fundraising, and for your continued Obs enthusiasm.

They are amazing jackets as you can wear them in warm temps or real cold. I do wear mine just about any time I am shooting. That way I can keep extra things including lens in the pockets.

Thanks Karen. I also will wear it proudly and also have put one of the MWO logo patches on my black work fleece. On this fleece I might have Mount Washington Observatory embroided under the STP logo. I have not taken it off since I recieved it. Ok I took it off for bed.

Explanation accepted!!! I noticed the pocket, but didn't connect the dots. Regardless, I love the jacket and will were it religiously until the spring gods usher in a fresh round of hot weather!!! Of course my 2009 jacket is already jealous!!!

On my Fleece last year I have a zippered pocket but the MWOBS is still on it. But I see the difference now. My logos last year were put higher so the MWOBS is higher than the zippered pocket.
This year the logo is lower. Now it all makes sense!
THANK YOU KAREN! :)
I cant wait till next year!
This year was hard for me to collect donations because little Bella was so sick and had her limbs amputated.
There was just no contest regarding a childs life.

I am looking forward to hitting the streets again next year so I can get my Fleece once again and this time with the MWOBS logo on it!
WOOOOO!!!!!!

News Flash: This is a good time to get the 2009 STP fleece washed. You are wearing your new fleece, so, be nice to your old one - give it a bath. I did and it looks nice again.

BanjoChris
09-29-2010, 12:42 PM
Brad,

I think that's excellent advice. I must say I jumped the gun a little as mine was washed in the late spring. Maybe I shouldn't say I jumped the gun as my fleece actually got up and walked into the laundry room on its own...

At least now I always have a backup...next year we'll have to develop a rotation protocol!!!

I've been wearing mine from 2008 right up to getting this one. Judy has the 2009 version. We'll alternate years so we each get a new one every other year!

I have been isolated on a mountain top for a week. I am trying to figure out what Daylight Savings Time is and how to find world news. Nope, I was not aware they were getting ready for our arrival.

Thanks - we will get the car at the airport and head away from London anyway. I can't imagine "The Blue Boar" and other places we are staying would be a target.

I will have to admit here in public - I took my STP 2009 fleece with me to England this weekend - and not my 2010. I wanted the bright red color so my daughter could find me at the airport and it worked. Now to switch full time into STP 2010 fleece mode...

Please accept my apologies.

Brad,

Thankfully there is not a OBS logo on the 2010 version, as we would clearly have to tear it off for this blatant infraction!

Isn't it nice how these things all work out for the best!!

Brad, do you know if the patch you bought for yours is available on the online store. I looked on there and didn't see one that would look good on the jackets. I'd like to get one and sew it on now that it's cool enough down here to start wearing it. Thanks!

Bob I had bought one at the Discovery Center last time I was there for around 4 bucks I think and I ironed it on my work fleece and it still after a few washes has not even peeled off. I am as soon as I get a chance going to bring my STP fleece to an embroidery shop and have them put Mount Washington 6288' under the STP logo. Or Mount Washington Observatory 6288'. Have not decided which yet.

I purchases mine at the Observatory's summit gift shop and they have plenty of them. And I was told the WDC gift shop has a lot of them too. I am sure if you do not see it online you can call the WDC or send an email to summitshop@mountwashington.org and they will try to help you.

My STP 2010 fleece is complete. Now when people see the event logo, they don't have to ask what organization it is affiliated with. Although they do still ask "What's Seek the Peak"? And I am more than happy to tell them. :)

I stopped off at LL Bean yesterday with my STP 2010 fleece. They checked the fleece and agreed they can add "Mount Washington Observatory" under the STP logo. The cost is $6 per 10 letters.

BUT, the fleece must be clean. Mine had dog hairs on it and they would not take it. So, I will clean it this weekend and take it back on Monday or Tuesday. Then I will provide a status report.
