This past Sunday, my friend John and I drove up from PA to meet up with Anna LeBlanc, her husband Gary, and their cute dog Nigel for a loop hike on the UNH Trail to Hedgehog Mountain. It was a perfect day to hike with some very nice new hiking friends.

This is Nigel, who is a much better hiker than you would expect being that his legs are so short. He was quite the athlete, leading us up the trail the entire way. I even tried to get in the lead once, but he wasn't hearing of that. :D

Once on the East Ledges, we had a great view of Mount Chocoura in the distance.

On our descent, Anna pointed out some heavy rain showers over Crawford Notch and probably The Presi's. Luckily, they headed SE and away from us.

The entire hike was a really nice one. We had nice cool temperatures with somewhat breezy conditions.

Hedgehog Mountain isn't that high in elevation, or is it a particularly long hike as far as distance goes. But, it sure does afford the hiker some of the best views in The Whites.
