Hello All,

Just signed up for the boards after an extensive period of lurking. Figured I would share a photo I took the day before Thanksgiving. Located on Crawford Path looking north towards Eisenhower. Great day of hiking, the morning was completely overcast, but then started to clear up towards the end of the day.

Awesome picture...I love the clearly defined snow-line. Also, what day was this? It wouldn't happen to be November 21, would it?

Welcome to the boards, PTurek! Your picture is great as well.

Thanks Ow2010, That photo was taken believe it or not on 10/17/10. There was more snow up there that day, then I have seen in all of my november hikes.

My father took this photo. Vary rare to see Uluru (Ayers Rock) under cloud.

Sunrise this morning was clear and it had a nice glow. Got these shots of Mt Washington from here in Maine.

And yesterday I ducked down to Nubble Light to get the lighthouse at sunset.

Great pics Brad. A very beautiful Christmas morning on the summit indeed. I still continue to be amazed by the shots of Mt Washington from ME. Looks like you've managed to move it into your back yard. The shot of Nubble Light is great too. Love seeing it decked out for the holidays.

Busy day at the feeder in the backyard. Need an air traffic controller.

Nice pics, Brad. How far are you actually from Mt. Washington? Have you ever taken a pic from the summit looking back towards your lake house?

12-25-2010, 11:19 PM
Always surprised at how close Mt. Washington really is to the state border. Great shots, Brad! I couldn't stop checking the webcams all day...they make me so jealous on days like today.

I just checked my topo software and it is 30.66 miles from the cabin to PNVC - that is as the crow flies or as the camera sees. The photo with the island and frozen lake is 32.76 miles from where I was standing to the summit of Mt Washington. In NH there always seems to be mountains in the way of a good view of MW. From Maine there are fantastic views all over the place.

Mark, I have taken photos like that. But, there are so many lakes around out area it is hard to see which one is which. What I will do next summer is stand at my photo spot and check the compass reading to the summit. Then do the reverse when I get on top the next time.

On the way to the Nanuet, NY get together yesterday I stopped at Nubble Light for sunrise.

Hello all,

Hiked Mount Monroe about a week ago. Wanted to share some photos from the trip. Enjoy!

A little different perspective of my hike up Mt. Monadnock yesterday. It was windy, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky (Mt. Washington easily made out in the distance)

Mark Truman and Roger Currier have fantastic photos added to the Photo Journal for December 2011. Great shots - and beautiful conditions.

On the summit this past week it is hard to narrow things down to just a few favorite shots. But, here goes...

Stage at Night was cool to get the Yankee building's lights on one side and the glow from Boston on the other.

This panorma came out well

The tower at night when Mike was de-icing so the lights were on

As sunrise started to sweep across the summit

It was quite a week!

Beautiful shots Brad! Don't know if I could pick a favorite.

Thanks for the mention Brad. The views of the Presis were amazing that day. Love the selection from last week that you included here. Really enjoyed following all the rest on Facebook during the week too. You and Charlie had some fantastic conditions for photography!
