The DayTrip on Monday had a few extra places so Charlie and I signed up. Charlie was already planning on being in Maine for a few days and we went to the Franklin get together. So, staying one more day in Maine/NH made a lot of sense.
8:30 AM at the base of the Auto Road and the sky cleared to reveal a beautiful day. 5 of us heading up along with Michelle and Kerry as our guides. Crampons, face masks, gloves, no flesh exposed and we were off.

We stopped several times on the way up to get out, take pictures, get cold, and hop back in. But, we caught up with the State Park's snow tractor plowing drifts out of the way and had to wait a bit. The views were wonderful.

Roamed around on the summit in the -50F wind chill and got chilled.

The inside of the Cold Room in the tower was a wee bit chilly as we headed up to the tower.

With the cold you always have to have a handy dandy ice scraper handy to clear off the ice from the inside of the tractor's windows.

It was a great day and a trip everyone should go for. Quite a day!
