So, if you're on the forums, you probably already know that Seek the Peak is the Observatory's annual fundraising hike-a-thon. But - if you haven't taken part before, what you may not realize, is that beyond helping to raise money for a worthy cause, simply put, it is a lot of fun!
Here's a snapshot - A hike to the summit of Mt. Washington - perhaps a tour of the Observatory (often accompanied by homemade cookies!), a spectacular view (weather permitting, of course), a hike back down, and under the "big top" at the base of the Auto Road, a good meal, good music, a lot of friendly people, and a lot of great prizes...
If you enjoy these forums, the White Mountains in general, or use the forecasts, web cams, and more that the Observatory provides, please consider signing up!
But - you don't really need a specific reason like those named above - you can sign up just for the fun of it!
