There Are Over 1,000 Ways in Which You Can Help...

So as the title of this topic implies, there are over 1,000 ways in which you can help the Observatory right now...

That is because is costs $1,013.22 PER DAY to operate the Observatory's remote, windswept summit weather station!

In case you haven't done the math, that comes out to $42.21 per hour, or about 70 cents per minute?

Please bear in mind the fact that the Observatory is fully operational, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

Now, consider the fact that there are numerous expenses incurred in support of the summit facility, which are not included in these numbers? postage, this website, and museum exhibit maintenance and construction, to name a few?

As you may have heard, the Observatory's fiscal year ends on April 30th, and they are close to reaching their goal.

In the four days remaining in the fiscal year, the "bill" for operating the summit outpost will total $4052.88.

Clearly, since you are here reading this, you appreciate what the Observatory has to offer, whether it be this community forum, the website at large, the summit forecasts, research, educational programs, museums, web cams, and Marty, or all of the above and more.

Without the support offered by donations from the general public and members, this world famous non-profit organization cannot continue its good works.

Please considering showing your appreciation by making a donation before the end of the fiscal year on April 30th. (http://photo.ecomalley.com/mwobs)

If you are not a member, please become one (http://photo.ecomalley.com/mwobs), if you are a member, please try to renew at a higher membership level, or last but not least, simply make a donation (http://photo.ecomalley.com/mwobs).

If you need some inspiration, remember that if you make a donation of just $42.21 (http://photo.ecomalley.com/mwobs) (feel free to give more of course! $84.42 is equal to two hours...), you will be providing the funds necessary to operate the Observatory's mountaintop weather station for one hour! That would entitle you to some pretty unique bragging rights!

Keep in mind that all donations are tax deductible, and that regardless of amount, they all add up.

I sincerely thank you for whatever you can do!

Thanks for the reminder Ed. Membership renewal entered just in the nick of time for the April 30th deadline. Come on everyone - add your support!

Moving to the second wave of STP fundraising now. No hope of catching Ed but striving to reach the $1000 mark again this year.
