Hi everyone,

We've just rolled out a brand new way to support the Observatory, aimed especially at the folks that frequent our website on a regular basis.

Now, in the upper-left corner of every page of our website (minus the forums), you have the ability to sponsor the website for a day and post a short message. Sponsorship gifts can be made to commemorate a birthday, celebrate a big event, honor a loved one, salute a special person or whatever you'd like to do.

The minimum sponsorship gift is $25, although we've determined that it takes $82/day to fund this website and all the complexities of delivering webcams, weather data and educational content to you in this attractive, compelling way. If you wish to go bigger than $25, by all means do so!

If you frequent the website, contribute in the forums, enjoy the photos, benefit from our online forecasts and religiously visit the webcams every day, then we invite you to make a small contribution to help us deliver this valuable service to you around the clock every day.

If I've instantly moved you to give, then waste no time and head right here (https://www.mountwashington.org/websponsor/)! :)

Thanks so much,

Scot Henley
Executive Director
Mount Washington Observatory

Since each sponsorship entry has to be moderated by staff (sadly, a necessity), you have to pick a date that is at least one week out. Sorry!

Scot

Anytime Blue ~ Hope you had a great birthday & congratulations on completing ORM #12..

Why don't you work on making some time to come back North and complete a few more on your list of 48, when you're done we can celebrate at Flatbread Pizza (White Mountains style)

Nope!! I'm requesting Flatbread to celebrate with him, when he completes the 48th....and now it's in a thread and can't be erased :p

You and I can go to Moat the next day, I'm sure he wouldn't mind :). I've never been to Moat but, Geddy's in Bar Harbor has the best Blueberry beer that I've ever had..

If/When I finish the 48, EVERYONE is invited! Though I do have to say that Moat's Violet-B's is the best blueberry beer in all the land.

#48 is way off in the future but, it's certainly attainable in 2012...(If/When pffft Blue)

Bob, I'm curious what the heck is a "PT" Kilted Hiker...This is not an authorized term to be used before the words Kilted Hiker....

"Part-Time" since he's been caught on the mountain without it.

True Kilted Hikers are not "part-timers".
Ahhemm Bob, caught in the act eh?

CHRIS

Now Bob. You must remember if caught in front of a camera without your Kilt on. You must make sure the picture is from waist up ;). Of course being on a mountain when it is above 30 degrees you have to be in the Kilt at all times. :D

Thanks for clarifying Chris...I missed that very important piece (I was tired last night, not on my game)

Good catch Chris! Hmmm... I'm thinking we need an MWO official to take a pic of them both on the obs deck in proper kilted attire while they are there! You know... just to be sure no photoshop trickery is going on. :)

I think the unofficial mark is 30 where a Base layer is acceptable. Might be some sort of bonus point for each degree below freezing that it's worn proper thought.
