antler hunting in Evan's Notch (roughly)

found a nice area on a mountain I explore every spring looking for moose antlers...

I like these birch glades with ferns underneath. The ferns turn a rich golden brown when they die. Soon they will be back.

Found 11 antlers, but only two of them were fresh drops. The rest have been there at least a year.

It was an interesting day for weather as well, with periods of clear skie and then light showers and dark clouds.

Very nice pictures.... I also look for sheds here in Jersey at this time of year but in my case for whitetail deer which are very abundant here. This year for some reason I wasn't too successful though.

Antler hunting looks like a nice thing to do in combination with a hike. We have many whitetail here too, but the funny thing is, I never see any of the drop-offs. I suppose that's because most times we never leave the trail. Nice photos Patrick! Thanks for sharing. :)

Wow - This is great! I've only ever found one white tail antler in the woods, and it was pretty nibbled up by the mice and critters. I'm surprised to see that some of these moose antlers are still around after a whole season. I always thought they were consumed quickly in the woods, but it seems not to be the case. It's incredible how many you found in one trip out. Very cool stuff!
