Some Views from Black Mountain in Jackson, NH

This past Sunday (31-Jul-2011), I decided to do a bushwhack up to the 3,304 ft peak on Black Mountain in Jackson, NH. I was curious to have a look around since I'd heard that there were views from there. Shown below are a few photos of some of the views I experienced from atop this mountain.

Particularly impressive to me was the view of the Carter Notch which is shown in the photo below.

And, shown below is a highly-zoomed look at the Carter Notch.

The view toward the Presidential Range was also very nice. The next photo shows one viewing angle for that particular vista.

Thank you everyone for posting such nice comments. That 3,304 ft peak of Black Mountain certainly does afford a unique view toward the Carter Notch with Mt. Madison lurking on the other side. In some ways, the view is sort of comical. It's almost as if this huge mountain is peeking through the Notch trying to decide whether it can possibly squeeze through!:)
