Pawtuckaway Mountains (North and South) 12-29-11

Hi Everyone!

I was able to hangout with an old friend this past Thursday and decided to hike in Pawtuckaway. We did a pretty big loop, going over North and South Mountains. The skies were blue and the views were great. I even think I spotted Mount Washington's white cap poking up in the distance, but not totally sure.

Also, there were three NGS Reference Markers on North Mountain, all pointing to the summit cairn. Does anyone know if there is in fact an NGS Benchmark under the cairn??? I'm kicking myself for not digging into it to see for myself. Wondering if anyone else out there knows.

Nice write-up Karl. Hiking is a great way to catch up with old friends.
If that really is Washington in your picture, that's some pretty impressive visibility!

I really like the Round Pond pictures and those beavers are just amazing how they do that for little critters... lol
