I haven't been up there recently myself, but this is always a good source to check on trail conditions: http://www.newenglandtrailconditions.com/nh/

According to the latest report from Liberty/Franconia Ridge (yesterday), snowshoes would have been helpful but not necessarily required. Given the expectation of more snow in the next few days, I would carry them just to be safe.
