My first time above tree-line in winter and it can be a pretty scary place, but the views were incredible. We had a great day although I did feel a bit uneasy for the most part. I apologize for the big blocks of text...I think I compensated for that with enough pictures :D

Awesome photos and TR Owen! Though windy and very cold, I'm sure the blue bird skies made up for the conditions. I've never been up Adams or Madison in the winter, and now I know I have too. Congrats on numbers 27 and 28. Thanks for bringing us along!

Fantastic trip report and pictures, Owen! Congrats on #27 & 28! I've got Madison -Washington to finish my W48 and I've been waiting for the "Right" day for a couple of years! Embarrassing, maybe to some, but having spent time on Washington in winter has taught me that I don't want to included on "The List" on the wall of the Sherman Adams Building just to say, "I hiked a list". Thanks for a well thought out trip report, and really excellent photos!

Bob, thanks for the feedback! You definitely have to try these peaks in winter...nothing else like it.

KDT, nothing embarrassing about playing it safe. We like to pretend it's all a big race, but it really isn't. Your thought is the same as mine - bagging peaks for a list isn't worth securing a spot on the ultimate "list." Thanks for responding.

Great pictures and nice job! Tuesday ended up being a decent above-treeline day, as long as one had the clothing and gear for it. Congrats on getting these two peaks! :)
