Can anyone give me a suggestion on a great "full moon hike"? I was thinking of doing Eisenhower. I was leaning towards, starting the hike around 0000-0100 so I could watch the sun rise. Any suggestions? This wouldn't be an over night stay at a hut, hike. I was thinking that it would be a great experience providing the sky was clear. is it worth doing? thanks

I assume you're talking about the upcoming full moon June 4 (or the surrounding days). We're hoping for good weather and clear skies as well....thinking about ascending Jefferson in time for sunset and then wandering the ridge. Eisenhower is a good choice too, as well as Franconia Ridge. Anything above treeline I think.

last year we started the Tuckerman Ravine trail at 4am. arrived at the headwall just in time to watch the sunrise over Wildcat. I'll never forget that.
