Hi Everyone,

My buddy, Alex, and I headed up to Jackson this past Monday to tackle the Doubleheads. I had heard they were steep, but really had not expected them to be as steep as they were. It was a tough hike in my opinion! Below is a link to my full trip report and pictures. Below are also some of my favorite pictures if you don't feel like heading over to the blog.

Hobblebush in full bloom. Someone told me or I read somewhere that the big flowers are merely there to attract bees to the small ones for pollination and that they were pretty much decoys. Very cool.

Poor trail conditions of the New Path. I was very disappointed as it was not maintained well at all and was not clearly marked. I fell, hurting myself, while searching for the trail on a few occasions.

Thanks

I read your blog and enjoyed it, Thank you for sharing.
I'm actually read this in my room on No. Conway looking out the window at a dreary day wondering if I should venture out into the woods.

And good luck to your friend in his new job and little on the way. :)

Hi Bob - No, I didn't injure myself too bad. One fall got my ankle feeling a bit funny, but my boots saved it I think. The second onto ledge hurt my tailbone a little and hurt my wrist a bit. I have week wrists anyway, though.

Hi Kathy - I hope you were able to get out. I'm not sure about up north this week, but the showers have been off and on in sourthern NH. Maybe worth checking out some of the lower trails such as Echo Lake in that area.

Karl
