Hi Everyone,

My buddy and I hiked Mount Crawford this past weekend. We wanted to do something somewhat short and not too strenuous. Originally, we targeted Hale, but where the weather was going to be so great, we decided to look for something with more views. Crawford was a bit of a gamble for us as the only trip reports I've seen from Crawford are John's (1HappyHiker). He has taken amazing photos from Crawford's summit...but he can take amazing photos from a summit that has not so great views...so it's hard to gauge from his handy work. Once we got to the summit, we were extremely happy with our choice. No clouds, blue skies, 360 degree views...also the trail maintainers have done a phenomenal job on the first portion of the Davis Path! My full trip report is here if you're interested...please visit! http://livefreeandhikenh.blogspot.com/2013/08/well-after-hike-theres-nothing-like.html

Here are some of my favorite pics:

Yes I totally agree Karl, I hiked this peak last year and the views were great for a relatively moderate hike.
Thanks for sharing.

That really was a great TR and fun to read.
I like seeing posters from this board learning from other posters and 1Happyhiker is one of my favorites too, from his photo's, his blog and overall kindness, I learn alot from him and others who post here. And where my legs don't take me, all of you do.

I also enjoy learning history about trails and the state itself. Sometimes friends on my FB will ask what everyone is reading, I always reply that no one wants to read what I'm reading about. Right now I'm in the middle of "Wandering Through the White Mountains", by Steven D Smith, see what I mean? LOL

"Come to the woods, for here is rest" quote from John Muir.

After reading your TR, I plan on adding Mt Crawford to my "to do " list. thanks Karl

This is one of my very favorite mountains, and one of the most underrated. I've done it in all seasons, and all of them were great. Highly recommended.

Hi Karl,
That is a great hike! The views are tremendous for the effort. We did it last week along with Stairs and Resolution.
