Too bad I wasn't up early enough to sit and watch it for myself.
Venus was very bright this morning before sunrise. And the sunrise going on now is cool!

Almost looks like a small moon!
Why is Venus so bright? It seems very different from before. Here it is again this morning.

That's not Venus, it's the headlamp of an early morning flight out of Portland. Or , maybe it's M_six in his F-16 coming to fly over your lake house.:D
Not entirely sure, but venus does exhibit phases, like the moon. I think that it is in a waxing mode right now. In addition, I also think that it's position is currently closer to the earth.
My new web camera at the lake only works with Internet Explorer - and not Firefox. It seems someone has written some javascript to make it work in Firefox. This works well - but you have to have the password to get on the camera as administrator. If anyone knows of a different approach, let me know.
How beautiful can it get? The lake is flat calm and the sun is comingup. Soooo nice. Good morning folks.

I love the mists over lakes in the fall. I've been enjoying some myself on my new commute. This is right near Kevin's house:Quote:

Jim, I like it - especially the hint of a reflection.
