August Contest: Average Wind Speed

True SnowMiser but, the average is holding strong at 20's....... Clearly, I'm not a meteorologist, I'm just a girl :) but, the summit would need to have strong gusts for three or more days to push the average past your guess......

You never know Prez. I'm by far not a meteorologist either, just a boy :) . Perhaps Isaac will help push the average up? Good luck everyone! One week to go.

Average as of this morning's F6 report is 22.2 mph. Sure hasn't been that windy on the summit this month. Will post the final results for the month, either very early Saturday morning or sometime Sunday.

And don't forget about the current contest running - Guess when the first 2" of snow will fall on the summit.

That would be correct Snow Miser. With an average speed of 23.1, currently and the closest guess is at 24 - everyone is over and no soup for anyone! :) That is of course, the wind keeps up where it is, then the average can be pulled northbound and over the 24 MPH mark.

Well, I must be reading the entire contest wrong because there is NO WAY, I'd ever guess an average wind speed on Mt Washington at anything less than 75mph for any month. I read it as the average for the entire month which is calculated at the bottom of that column on the F6 report (23.1). Sorry, if I misinterpreted the contest description.

This month, you are going to try to guess the average wind speed on the summit for the month of August. All entries will need to be in by 11:59 PM, July 31. ?
