I have not done it solo, but it could easily be done solo. No ropes or belays required on any of it. There are about three sections of mixed rock-ice-snow right now, but that could change depending...

I like the cams, but it'd be nice if your page didn't auto-resize all of my windows.
call me old fashioned, but I wouldn't mind having the pics posted in the daily journals being a little higher resolution. I'd like to be able to set some of them as my desktop wallpaper. any chance...
love the pic. squint carefully and you might be able to see me skiing sluice, or maybe down the sherburne. awesome day up there. i bet the view is a lot different today!
6-12" is what I saw.
Awesome trip to the ravine this weekend. Left the parking lot at Pinkham @ 10:15 and got to HoJo's at 11:15.
The trail was a mixed-bad of ice and slush, and it made for slow-ish going, especially...
i'll post the report and pics soon, but there was no line of people on Saturday. Bowl was frozen solid. more crashes than anything else. sunday was better.

excellent loop, my favorite on the mountain. hopefully you'll have better weather than we did. we knew we were on the edge of great gulf, we just couldn't see it.
might be more like ice skating given the way conditions look. i'll try and get a video camera on my trip this weekend, but i'll def. have pictures and an extensive TR that i'll post here, on T4T and...
lions head is safer than tucks in the early summer. and prob. about the same difficulty. top of lions head is very nice.
and very steep. Taking Lions head adds a little bit of distance. I think the Ammo trail is about 5miles or so (to the summit, 3 to the hut). that's steep as well.

well, not really. ;) forum spam is really the new twist.
i think i saw something on the site a couple months ago mentioning weather stations in the presidentials and an expanded one at lakes. could be thinking of something else, though.
yup, it worked. excellent pics.
I'm WFA trained, looking at doing the WEMT training later this year. only problem is the week-long course, which gets in the way of school. SOLO was talking about doing a module-style course, which I...
I'll be up at the ravine this weekend 3/31-4/1. I'm planning on skiing Hillman's, Lower Snowfields, and maybe parts of the Lip/Left Gully. I've been going up to the Ravine for the last couple years...
sounds good to me, lets hope the winds go higher
i second all of these...all excellent books.
right now they're the little black diamonds, but they alternate
i kinda noticed this post has 5 stars, kinda ironic...and i think if you notice all the T4T members with the one word responses are the ones w/out much reppage. oh well, just an idea.
while I agree that this helps to accomplish the goal, i'm looking for a user-based system (similiar to what they have at Time for Tuckerman, if anyone has been there) that would attach a rating to...
does anyone here think it woudl be a good idea to install a reputation system so that good posts and good work could be acknowledged? I think that this would foster a sense of trying to improve posts...
has anyone here been up to IME in north conway recently and checked out their climbing stuff? i'm looking to pick up crampons and axes this spring and IME is too far to just go and check it out...and...
i'll be up on the rockpile early june, i'll check then...good luck
