Whoops...that's what I get for getting on the forums late at night...what was the actual number?
I would say that the best map that I've found to date is the "White Mountain Trail Map" by Map Adventures. It offers a couple of helpful insets in areas of numerous junctions, very up to date trail...
You've got to be prepared! Remember - there is no shame in turning back...you'll live to try the traverse on another day!;)
well Said, Fisher Cat -
I think that many of us feel like NH has a certain way about it, a sort of cooperative ownership that focuses on accomplishing the goal at hand...but I'd also share that...
Hmmmmm...hazzarding a guess sounds like fun:
11.7 inches.
I know that Jim's picking the prize, but if I can offer a suggestion...a nice 8x10 of BC striking a pose during the "Thriller" dance...
Live Free or Die!
I DO love that you're spreading the New Hampshire way...a much better looking, much more functional waterbar indeed!
...I might be a little biased, but NH truly is the...
Jim,
This is a very cool photo - how old are the kids that are in your outing club?
I'm interested to hear about the kids' evolving interest in the outdoors, especially where you can offer so...
Right off the top of my head, the valley way tentsite is a REALLY short hike up the valley way trail...you might be better off tacking on more miles and going to The Perch or another tent site (can't...

It's a really cool view of Washington, anyway - it looks like it's looking more NW than the view from The...
My favorite is the pic that is up right outside of the stateside entrance to the obs room (last volunteer trip it was there, at least) - it shows the Bonds with Washington looming in the background -...
Yeah, that is a great hike...I'd like to give it a shot in the winter this year. It offers a 'neater' way down the mountain ;)
Knapper has a sound strategy...implicit in his response is the fact that even with a forecast, weather can really change in an instant, or an unexpected and short term deviation from that forecast...
If any of you decide that it's a good day to play hookey, I'd always be happy to play along! I've enjoyed photos by each of you for quite some time now - each of you with your own unique style.
I...
I would have to agree with some of the other posts, and also ask how many times you've (a) been to the Presidentials in NH, and (b) how many multi-day winter traverses have you done? Of course, you...
That shot of the mushroom is very cool - very solitary and dark looking. It really caught my eye!
If any of you plan on playing hookey, I'm always game too...I've enjoyed photos that each of you have done - you each have a really distinct style and I always look forward to seeing your shots in...
Those are definitely sweet dance moves. BC, Stacie and Ryan can really cut a rug (along with the interns!).
They'll get lots of press about this one for months to come...fame and fortune are just...
