    Default recent moose pics

    I've been lucky this week...

    cow moose in the hobblebush

another cow moose, close-up...does her graying hair indicate aging?

a young bull showing budding antlers...it's a long way down to the ground for a moose...

    late day light...close-up...

probably the same bull, a day later...

I named this bull "Big Daddy". I've seen him four years running, very distinctive antlers which grow the same size and shape each year.

    distinctive antlers...

    Big Daddy is handsome...

    and he's huge...

    another bull...

    hmmm...bog water!

probably the same bull, at sunset yesterday

Great shots. I think I have some of big daddy as well. Those antlers are unique.

I didn't see any moose on the Kanc yesterday. Must have been all those loud Harleys.

What approach do you use to get such great shots. I could wander all day in the woods and probably never see a moose. I only see them by accident usually.

Well, I was once charged, but I'd call it a bluff because the bull stopped his charge after a few seconds. I was briefly terrified .

That helped me learn to get close without upsetting them. They won't like you if you appear to be a predator. Act like a fellow browser.
