and Saturday it was very busy up there , we came across the alpine garden trail to lion head trail and started to see a lot of people coming up lion head .we went out to the lions head and looked down tucks and it looked like little ants waking in line .there is still a little snow by the water falls .there was a line of people going up at that part .then we went to tucks ,tucks crossover and southside trail and looked up the tucks to the summit and there was wall to wall people going up so we went southside to Crawford path to the top . that was a nice hike a lot of people coming down to the lakes .
i need to get in shape a little more .thanks to the other EDU trip people they went at a pace that was a little better for me .it was good to stop and have our hike guide Peter and Danna from the obs discovery center to give us a long hike with a lot of history about the surrounding mountains and the trails we were on [peter is like an Encyclopædia of the whites.
more to come about the trip later

Nice photos Charlie, I bet that was an awesome trip. Looking forward to my next time up there!

Is there really any BAD weather???
Doing an Edutrip sounds like such a great idea. Being up there for sunset and sunrise with good visibility would be awesome.

Another way to get in a sunrise and/or sunset would be to stay the night at Lakes of the Clouds. It's also cheaper but not as educational.

yes it would be cheaper but our host Peter Crane was full of information about the whites .and you will miss out on all that fine food they have up there made by the volunteers.Originally Posted by WSR88D
