I'm guessing about 100,000 people or so this year. People never stop climbing Mount Washington to visit the summit, even in the winter.

I cannot believe people actually climb up in the wintertime. I know the ski down but is anybody up there besides the volunteers. The store must be closed so they can even get warmed up to my correct.

Yes. The observatory staff, who get paid. The interns, the volunteer cooks, the state park caretakers, edutrippers, overnight hikers, and various other scientists and visitors.

You are correct about the store, that is closed. As are the rest of the summit buildings.

I especially enjoy climbing to the summit of Mt. Washington during the winter months & make it a point to do so.

I agree. Its also really hard to do a "winter ascent" any other time of year.

Yes, but I have been up there the first week in August and got caught in a snow storm.

a little snow would be nice 1 week from sat ,then clear up on sun .

No...I do it all the time. I usually don't get what I want though. I've asked for snow many times here in Fla during the winter but haven't seen it yet. But I have hope...By 2020...Global cooling is coming...and I will be riding a snow machine on the beach down here!
