We hiked to Galehead Mountain on the Fourth of July. The weather was warm and humid, the skies threatened, but never rained, and as the afternoon got hotter, the bugs came out in force. The Gale River Trail is easy for the first 3 miles, it is wide and rises very gradually. The last mile is steep as it rises to its junction with the Garfield Ridge Trail. We followed this east to its junction with the Twinway, near Galehead Hut. From there it is a half mile of easy climbing to the viewless summit of Galehead. Full report and pictures here:
