Rain the night before made the Little River swell to where it was best to stay along the east bank and avoid the first two river crossings. This is an easy accomplishment. The guide book calls it a bushwhack, but it is a very obvious trail. The rain had another more desirable effect, it kept the bugs down for most of the day, as everything was soaked. There were still ample wildflowers along the trail, especially above 3000' where the trail was literally lined with Bunchberry. There was also Canada Mayflower and Clintonia. On both summits the Mountain Sandwort was blooming. The air was cool and clear, washed clean by the previous nights rain. The sky was full of fair weather cumulus and visibility was superb. The surrounding mountains were vivid. This was our third time to these summits and it was a great trip. Full trip report and pictures here:
