My total hiking to the summit is now just over 50 times. Last summer I did it 3 times including STP. This year i am a bit behind schedule with STP being my first hike up.
The summer camp I went to in NH had a Mt Washington Squad which was an honor trip. The staff selected who would go. Citizenship and support of others was as important as ability to do it. From that hike in 1959 I have been coming back for more each year. This year I will drive up from NC - take a day of rest - then join in the STP fun on Saturday. It is a great mountain - the trails are good - there is so much variety that each time up is different. But, one does have to watch out for the weather and be safe.
