Wow, the sunset video from the Presidentials camera was the best so far. And the West sunrise video was nice and clear.

Morning all...
On todays Obs deck sunrise video, just behind and to the left of the temporary instruments, something seems to be rolling around on the deck. Looks like a snowball but these videos are a total of 90 minutes... a long time for a snowball to roll or blow around. Any guesses?
Also the morning video of the ravines is flawless!

Yes, its a snowball. It's just slowly getting pushed around in an eddy. Wind this morning was around 35mph, so right on the deck its probably quite low.Originally Posted by detour to the whites
It was very clear this morning. The Obs was recording 120 mile visibility with SKC, sky clear. SKC is quite rare, not a cloud in the sky, not even a wisp of a cirrus.
how often does it take a photo to make toe hole thing.
if you stop the film and move it over frame by frame there is one frame that there is some one running back in .

If your not a OBS member yet then what are you waiting for
There will be a Total Lunar eclipse on Saturday night. See www.SpaceWeather.com for details.
Do you think one of the webcams might catch it at all?
Below is a graphic showing times.

Unfortunately, I think I am a little too far west to catch it.
I can describe what the web camera will look like during totality.Originally Posted by Patrad Fischroy

I meant to emphasize the "web camera" since I figured it wouldn't pick up that nice red glow. Either way, I think clouds are in the forecast.Originally Posted by Patrad Fischroy
The moon is setting now and can be seen in the West camera image.
