I even ran into a bear crossing the trail to Pondicherry. That is such a beautiful place to visit.

Great day in the whites with one stop just full of monarchs!!! Also quite a bit of nice color.

Isn't Pondicherry just stunning. Great shots...that's a big bear. I love the pano...thoughts of a winter sunset photo are in mind!

I'm impressed by the monarch shots, I'll have to stop by the notch entrance butterfly conservatory this weekend!

The bear was a big fellow. I think he will be fine this winter.

That was my first visit to Pondicherry and it truly is a hidden gem. I can only imagine how it looks during a sunrise or sunset.

There were so many monarchs there and the flowers were beautiful as well. If only it had been a little sunny instead of cloudy and dark. I hope you have better luck in that reguard.

who was that on the other side of the bear and the bear did not see them?

It was another person on the trail. It didn't seem to see either of us. I was about 50-60 yards away and I think he was about 40 yards away.

It just walked out of the woods and then across the trail to the other side. No hurry or worries.

The monarchs were simply a wonderful and relaxing time. Add the background of Washington and it was near perfect. Lighting could have been a little better. I am likely heading that way tomorrow so maybe I will get lucky then.
