Thanks and yes it is very nice. By the way, at the bottom of the screen on the left it says Alarm in red. What does that mean?

The State Road 1238 mentioned in the pictures is about 14 miles long - down to one car wide at many points - and you do need high clearance 4-wheel drive. The terrain drops off steeply on both sides. In the spring it would be awesome when the rhododendron are in bloom.

I went to see a hot air balloon event yesterday morning - but, it got fogged in. So, I headed to a few other spots in NC to take pictures (will upload them in a bit). Then this morning I was back at Statesville, NC for the balloons. Those pictures are at

My favorite was taken looking inside the balloon at the top as it was being filled with hot air.

I did the chase-the-vans routine to try to get pictures as they got set up several miles from the airport. Then they flew across the airport, dropped down by an X marker, dropped a bean bag on the marker (closest gets extra points) and then on to the tie down area. And I went back to the airport to get pictures there. Amazing they have that much control.

I would love to go to an evening event. This was my first hot air balloon event. When I got in the car I was sweating because of all the running - between shots.

Brad, I love the picture of the mountain. It looks cool...almost like a huge slab of rock set on the slope of the hill. I'd love to hike up there.
