Fall summit ideas

Hello all,
I am near Boston and I wanted to take my new bride to Mt. Washington. I am not sure if its too late to try to go to the top, I guess I will wait on some replies from you experts. I was planning on going sometime late October or early November. I do have a SUV if we encounter some snow, am I asking for trouble or is it still do-able in November?

I assume you're talking driving as you mention your SUV. The Auto Road is closed for the season. You can take a guided tour in the Snowcoach:

KD's right, but I'm with Charlie...personally, I'd strap on some boots as I've never driven / ridden up the Mountain. Maybe a hike up Mount Monadnoc is more appropriate, though, given the greater predictability of weather down there. Nice mountain, good views...

...maybe the more important question (so that we can offer more advice or suggestions) is why Mount Washington and why New Hampshire? Does your new bride like the Mountains? Is she from NH or something? What are you trying to (for lack of a better word) accomplish with this trip? Again, being a local I could probably recomend some more stuff with the AROAD closed...
