Please tell me someone got pics of the Moon this morning!!

On my drive in to work this morning around 6:45, the moon (atleast here in southeast NY hill country) was absolutely spectacular. The sky was so clear I could see each crater on the surface of the moon! Hopefully you guys werent stuck in the clouds and could enjoy it as I did and were able to snap a pic!!

We were stuck with overcast for the harvest moon in CT. My favorite full moon of the year.

I've been assured that Jim Salge was actively engaging the havest moon, and we should be lucky to see his photos in a few weeks.

Ha - I was in Wales this morning looking at that moon. It was excellent from there. I am now in NC ...

From Madison, Moon was setting over Mt Chocorua, hanging in the Band of Venus ( the purple strip of sky opposite the sun at dawn or dusk). There was a small band of clouds below the summit. It was just beautiful, but I did not shoot it.

That was the closest (to Earth) full moon of the year (I think).

The day after full moon (15 day old moon) is great for this view. It sets in the west shortly after sunrise. Likewise, the day before full moon (13 day old moon), the moon rises in the east shortly before sunset. In both cases, the moon appears full and presents a great view just above the horizon.
