there's EXIF data embedded in the images, it tells the make, model, serial #, focal length, etc. There's actually a ton of info in the EXIF.

It's most useful for loading up images into an editing app, to make adjustments (I use DX Optical to correct my images, so it reads the focal lengths, white balance settings, etc)

[QUOTE=Acrophobe]....How did you possibly know that? That's downright creepy.

Meta data! It's information about the information.

Yes, I used the EXIF data in the posted image. I find this data very helpful when working to combine multiple images.

    Still creepy.

I had assumed that it could be found in the photo's 'properties' tag, like a few other things can. But when I found that wasn't the case, I started to wonder if one of those webcams was here in Somersworth.

Jim, have you done any photography down in Newmarket? Admittedly, the scenery isn't quite as stunning as in Gorham, but you've got the nice river, and of course, Great Bay. Durham Point Road has some relatively nice scenes.

I hope you'll pardon me, I had an urge to post another photo I took this fall. Same camera, though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...k/100_0906.jpg

And I thought the fellow who waved at me was Steve from FL. I thought I could smell the Mountain Blueberry Coffee. Imagine sitting out on the porch, mug of coffee in your hand, rocking gently, watching and listening to the loons just a few feet away.

    Oh, it is so nice.
