Ravines View

Things have been changing with the Ravines camera over the past couple of days. We have had some images that could almost be called test patterns. The one below might have an interesting story about it. The current Ravines image is not changing and does not have the date & time on it.

So, what is happening? Are we running on the new camera?

Yes, the camera is new; a Toshiba IK-WB21A. The image quality is fantastic (fantastic fog) but the camera is meant to be ceiling mounted. It has a setting to rotate the image 180, which works only for the live stream, not the static image. So I have to flip it in software later. The picture above was unprocessed, like good holiday stuffing.

Interesting - I did not know the still image would not rotate when you change the mount setting. I just flipped my lake camera to be ceiling mount and the live image is upside down. The still image was fine. I learned something.

I guess it is easy to rotate a still image later in the process.

And we all do appreciate your efforts! Even with the ice glaze burning off the camera shows a lot of potential.

Mike, Am I being picky? Could you shift the Ravines camera slightly so that it includes Tuckermans entirely. Thanks

That kinda brings up another question - how do you protect the cameras? From theft or animals or falling limbs or whatnot? Do you just walk out in the woods until you find a good spot, then hang it in a tree somewhere?
