    Default Summit Wish List

Let's have the Summit Crew (and N Conway folk) post here things the organaization needs. Forum members may have one - may want to donate one - or have the ability to get a good discount.

    How can we help?

I know what they need. It's cash.

Highly liquid, easily transferable, good everywhere and cheap to ship.

Cash is always good, but sometimes we do need "things" and will in the relatively near future. Often, there are members out there that can get good discounts on items we may need, or even has an item they can donate.

Also, we have already begun to work on a long term plan to remodel the summit facility, especially downstairs. Several ideas have already been thrown around, but they are all just ideas at this point. One of the big things we do know we need is new furniture. However, we want to have a plan of what else we are going to do with the downstairs before we start looking for actual furniture. Our TV is also aging, and replacing it with a flat screen that can be mounted on the wall is another future possibility.

These are just two examples of items that may be better off being donated by someone that has one they want to donate, or perhaps can get cheaper through their profession or people they know. I am sure we will have a better idea of exactly what we are looking for as we develop this long term plan.

Maybe Rich and I could team up and donate some time to help with the remodel, and anyone else with construction background for that matter.

These are some of the ideas I was hoping this thread would trigger. Keep us posted on what you need and there may be a way we can help. what is nice is that members want to be able to do more than just their membership dollars.

I was thinking we might go through our bookshelves and see which books we could part with. I am sure having some new ones in your living room would be nice.

I am able to get good prices on many types of electronics - GPS (Garmin and others), fixed mount and portable radios (Icom, Standard, etc), Davis weather stations, etc. (through my own company)

I can also get good prices on camera and A/V equipment - stereos, TVs, etc. Most brands (through a client).

Also, I can get massive discounts from Apple.

If any of this helps the Observatory, let me know.
