Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and wanted to say hi. I love to hike and take long backpacking trips in the Whites. I am almost done with the NH 48. Even though I live in Ma, I feel I should be living in NH. I have only done 3 season hiking but really want to start doing some winter hikes and trips. I know I am more than capable, I just need someone willing to go with me. My goal this winter was to get to the MW summit but it just doesn't seem to want to happen. I don't have the money to do a guided trip this year and some of the other hiking groups going to the summit will only allow experienced winter hikers. Hopefully next year.

hey im a newby to this to. Ive never done washington at all but i want to do for the fiest time in the cold for some strange reason. I have some freinds that go alot and plan on following them up soon. when we go ill let you know and you can tag along!

Hiya, Welcome (I'm kinda a newbe here too)
But I do hike in the winter a bit, and my friend and I are going this weekend for an overnight, He's picking (its his birthday) but we plan on more this winter and I would like to try to get to Acadia this year too. Been there years ago and loved it, even after i fell through the ice
do you have all the gear, if you do then you dont need a guide, you just need some one to go with!

Welcome from VT. Winter Camping is great. I hope you get a chance to make a winter summit. I been to the summit 5 times over the last 3 years. This October and November were both sub 0 wind chill above tree line and it was great. We are planning another trip for Feb. I am very pumped and can't wait. Enjoy and be safe.
