So how is Nin adjusting to life off the mountain?

I've heard rumors of discord between Nin and the other cats. Maybe Brian has some firsthand information...

Maybe it's all that excess oxygen at the lower elevation, makin' him feisty!

    Default Nin has adjusted well

I spoke with Mike, Nin's new caretaker and he stated that he is getting along well and when Diane took him outside on his harness, he scratched away at tree, something he could not enjoy on the treeless summit of Mt Washington.

How do you get a harness on a cat? I've tried and tired, but there is no way she lets me. When she lived in E. Hartford she ruled the block, LOL. I'm afraid that here she'll get hurt of worse. But, I'd like to take her out in the nicer weather, any ideas?

Sounds like a risky proposition. You could get yourself shredded trying to put something on a cat that she doesn't want to be on. In my experience the cat would probably rather lay by the screen in an open window than be outdoors on a leash. My daughter has tried this a few times with one of ours and although he actually puts up with it you can tell that he's not at happy cat...

We do not let our cats outside on their own and have used harnesses with them since they were kittens. They get excited when we take the harness out because they know they are going outside. If an older cat won't accept it there exist outdoor cat shelters like this. I've never used or even seen one of these in real life so I can't vouch for their utility.

    Default Love Nin!

I love Nin- I am so happy she is adjusting well off the top! Please keep us updated on Nin's transition. Marty sure does have big paws to fill, but with all that love he will do great!
