Recent Hikes and more great news!

Hi All!!

We've taken a couple great hikes recently...

Cannon Mountain on 1/12 for our first Winter 4K-footer of 2008 (we got two in Dec 2007). It was a challenging day on the ice for me and still weird to take a break at the cafeteria at the top. Trail report can be found here.

Yesterday, before the Patriots game, we took a short walk up Mt Morgan in the Squam range. This is a great hike - just about 4.5 miles and just a few minutes from our house. Trail report can be found here.

BUT... the big news of the weekend happened on Friday Night!! All the talk of "Top Cats" sent us to the New Hampshire Humane Society in Laconia, where we brought home two GORGEOUS little cats to make us laugh and smile at home!! We spent the weekend doting on them every minute.

Congratulations for the additions to your family. They needed a good hoe and found one. Glad you got them from a shelter.

Ah yes, the Squam range. Rattlesnake Mountain (a misnomer through and through) is what I recommend to anyone looking for the best view for the effort. From the trail head (shared with Mt Morgan), hike 0.9 miles up a mild grade. Stop when you see all of Squam Lake and much of Winnepesaukee.

It's good to hear you adopted some homeless kitties as well.

Very True! WEST Rattlesnake is where we take relatives and friends so that they understand why we climb mountains! EAST Rattlesnake is much less crowded. We go there for solitude with a view.
