    Ive been looking around and i found a pack from llbean but i didnt know how reputable they were with climbing/ expedition packs so if anyone has any advice or insight for this bag http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/sto...&catalog_id=TA please let me know. Thanks

    Do not sacrifice fit or function for price. An ill-fitting or non-performing pack, especially an expedition one, is not a good deal at any price.

    You should spend several hours loading and trying on each pack. I did when I bought my daypack -- probably 10 hours online research and another 10-20 in EMS.

    I went to a local REI store in NC the other night for an AT Hike Prep session. The fellow teaching it did the AT thru in 2001. He knew what he was talking about and gave excellent answers to everyone's questions.
