One year in mid august we started up washington on the cog side and were planning on coming down the same way. Bright sunny at the bottom, became cloudy and fog from the last mile up and while it stayed relatively cool on the way down the fog formed rain, which turned to hail(3/8" roughly) which started falling sideways with the wind and ended with 2 lightning strikes very near us.

that was before we even got to the lake of the clouds on the way down.

so the rain->hail->lightning all within 10 mins and then was back to just fog
