Weekend at MWH with some cool shots of Mount Washington

I was in the WM this weekend and stayed at the MWH. Had sun till about 5pm on Friday and then didn't see it again until Sunday when I got into N.Conway.

The experience of the hotel was awesome.

It was quite the experience. My new lense was fun to try as well since you can see windows on the AMC Lake of the Clouds Hut and even make them out on the summit building.

The hotel though is expensive but definately worth a visit.

It was something I will remember for a long time for sure. I must say the staff was very pleasant and it truly seemed like they all enjoyed their jobs which is truly rare. It was nice to leave my phone off and not turn on a pc for a few days. I did not even miss them either which I can say never happened before.

If I am off someplace I usually have the phone on, the ipod with me, and probably a laptop as well. I had all of those but never used them despite the fact all it did was snow the entire weekend. The only way to be bored there was to chose to be bored.

Just a great experience.

What is the new lens you got? Were you using a tripod for the summit shots?

The new lense is a 170-500 Sigma which I purchased from KnH out of Georgia. The summit shots were handheld.

I use my son's Sigma 100-500 lens and it is very heavy. But, it is great for long shots. By switching to multi-shot mode you can take several pictures and normally one will be very clear. At the end of a day shooting at an air show your arms are tired!
