Thumbs up Thanks for the input!

    Hi Guys,
Just a quick thanks to everyone who had input to a previous thread I posted asking for input on a MW climb. My climbing partner and I arrived @ MW on 3/18/09 and had a chance to look around and talk to a few folks. Everyone we ran into was very pleasent and helpful and the Pinkham Notch Center was exactly as described. We felt real comfortable there.
We decided to give it a try on 3/19/08 even though the weather didn't look too promising, our schedule would only allow so much. We took the advice given and took the Tuckerman Revine trail to the Lions Head trail. We also came prepared for whatever since the weather was already questionable. There's a section of Lions Head that was pretty steep, covered with ice and snow and without crampons and ice ax, you'd be asking for trouble. The weather got a bit worse as we got higher and by the time we made Tuckermans Revine, I remembered what I believe KD had said in a earlier reply that not making the summit dosen't mean it was a bad climb. We considered the weather and how it was getting worse not better and decided not to risk ourselves or anyone else who may have to get involved if things went FUBAR. Looking back, it was a great day. We made it a good distance up the mountain, got to know it a little and everyone was safe. I am looking forward to coming back and giving it another try next year. To anyone who is looking for sound advice on the where's and how's of this mountain, it's here, you just need to listen.
    Thanks again

This is a great resource for questions about Mount Washington. There are several knowledgeable people here. If they don't know the answer, someone else will, or at least know where to find it. You did the right thing asking questions here before heading out. Glad you had a good, safe trip!

Yes, I talk about you folks to my friends at work in NC - and they say - "they do what?" You all are an amazing group of folks with wonderful insights, backgrounds and skills. Thanks for sharing.
