The Auto Road Vertical Temperature Profile (ARVTP) is one of the projects we've been working on that the public can see (more to come).

I have been struck these last few days by the inversions. The attached image shows that at 10 am est, the temps were all within 4.0 degrees F. Oddly enough, the highest temp was at 4000 feet.

Yesterday, we went up to the summit of Wildcat to do some work on the webcam equipment. At the bottom I wondered if I was dressed warmly enough. When we got to the top of the lift it was so warm I took off my hat and outer layer.

I know it has been the most unusual november weather wise for the whole state. Portland, ME and Concord, NH set all time reocrds for the month of November. Bizarre. but I know if you went to the summit of wildcat on this Saturday you wouldnt be taking off your hat

You will pay for that warm weather. Remember Buffalo a few years ago, they had that warm spell, and then they got hit with that huge storm. Enjoy it while you can.
