What did everybody think of the weather channels show
I thought they did a great job. The lightning in the weather room looked awesome, reminded me of a submarine movie. Why was Stephanie Abrams so stretched out on her live broadcast?Originally Posted by bc529
I thought it came out pretty good as well. I was hoping to show more of the road going up in the snow groomer macine. Also it was good to put faces with names up there in the observatory. I was hoping for some more footgae of the insides of the observatory but all in all , great exposure and some neat footage.Originally Posted by bc529

If they had shown more of the inside of the Observatory the donations would have flown in! The conditions are adequate but not for show. The Weather Room is where the "stuff" is and up on the tower. I thought they did a very good job. Including Ken, Jim and others from the crew was excellent. For me I got to see faces to go with names (Jim I already knew as he was kind enough to give my grandson and me a tour last summer when we hiked up).Originally Posted by AlpineHikerFan71
More footage outside would have been great. But, the weather was too "good" for the subject of the show - "worst weather jobs".

The picture of the crew with Stephanie is excellent - should be with a professional photography crew up there. And it is an excellent ad for LL Bean and their support of the observatory.

There was a short segment where they followed along in the cab of the snow tractor. It looked there was barely enough snow to use the cat, with many long dry sections.Originally Posted by AlpineHikerFan71
Brad was right about the weather room. I consider it to be a very functional place. They have high-tec eqipment for getting the job done. Besides that its just a regular office type room.
I saw the snow tractor part and all, and your right Bill, most of the part that they shown was on dry road. Just a few short snow sections. I am sure the weather room is high tech and lots of computers and such, I just thought they would show a little more of whats in there and such. I have never been in there and was just curious. but all in all it was still a good show, glad to see what I was able too.Originally Posted by Bill O
