    Default A change in plans

    Some of you knew that I am covering a few shifts on the summit this summer to fill in holes in staff during the hiring process and vacation. I arrived yesterday, but will be unable to stay for this week, and wanted to let you know why I am not posting comments, pictures and forum commentary...

    The day I spent up here has been wonderful, as any day on the summit can be. On tuesday I hiked to Zealand with Natalie, the obs intern, put in a day of work Wednesday, and hiked to Lakes at dinner last night. Great weather, the kind of days that rekindle the love of the Whites.

    Unfortunately, during sunset at lakes last night when I recieved word over the radio that my girlfriends father had passed away suddenly. Somethings are more important...

    It looks like I'll be in NJ for a bit, but will be back on the summit in two weeks...

    Jim, I am sorry to hear this news! Yes, there are things that are more important and we all understand. Take the time and extend our thoughts and prayers to her and her family.
