This particular edu-trip also has listed that there's some off summit hiking. Any clue what that entails?

Might be a hike to Lakes or Clay...maybe to the headwall or the Alpine garden. Everyone discusses their ability and a decision is made from there.

    From the Edutrip write up:

"A special feature of some of the trips this year is the inclusion, weather permitting, of hiking trips to locations near the summit within the White Mountain National Forest. Depending on the weather, the forecast, participant interest, and experience, we may include excursions to places such as the Alpine Garden, Mount Clay, Lakes of the Clouds, and Lion Head. Please note the specific dates for these special offerings. Participants in these trips should have some prior hiking experience and some familiarity with the roughness and ruggedness of the high mountain trails, and should bring appropriate hiking clothing, footwear, and equipment."

    Default Excited - not me . . .

It's just before 1 am (tues. night/wed. morning) and I'm reading forum posts.
What am I thinking? This is a sickness. Go to bed.

In other words, I'm very happy to have a spot on this EduTrip.
A huge thank you to Peter Crane and every member of the MW Obs crew that makes this dream of mine a reality.

    Most respectfully yours,
    >^..^< Shelley
