Thanks for the photo. I was hoping to see the show last night down in CT, but we were fogged in.
I remember seeing some amazing aurora displays from the summit.
Did anybody else see anything last night?
I was valley bound as well.
That pic is pretty good forest gnome, considering how hard night time sky photography is.
Wow,
That's a green sky for sure. Where did you take that from?
Great shot...
Nothing here in Southern Nh, as we too were socked in with dense zero visibilty Fog. They are calling for more fog tonight

Still a good shot, Patri...er, Forest Gnome! we actually could see the lights 120 miles south in Kingston. Even though we're not near any cities there is still too much light to allow good viewing here. My neighbors all burn outdoor lights all night. Add in the Christmas lights and it makes for tough viewing. Just about every neighbor who has a dock has a Xmas tree lit up on it. This is OK, the burning the outdoor lights all night burns me, though. I grew up in the city, too, but one of the reasons I moved to a quiet NH town was for the night sky. I think city people move to the country and they're afraid of the dark and the quiet. The northern lights weren't as bright and spectacular as the ones I'm seeing on this website, but nice to see all the same. I should have travelled a little ways to some place darker, but it's tough to find that motivation when you can see them from your deck. Also, I should have looked later at night, too, but didn't. My loss. I hope we get some more, but I'd trade clear skies for some snow! The way the weather down here has been for the last couple of weeks I'm waiting for my garden to start blooming.
I bet that was taken from the scenic outlook on rt 302 near the southern end of Crawford Notch.Originally Posted by afmrintern
Yup, just across from Frankenstein Cliff. That's Mt Monroe to the left of Mt Washington. Jim Salge got some shots later on as I now see on the homepage. Nice colors, Jim!Originally Posted by Mike D
KD and afmrintern, thanks for comments. I hoping for a good show soon because there are a few photo techniques I want to try, and a new location I want to try as well.
What a great picture taken by Brian Clark. This is in the MWO site's Photo Journal.
