    Default Eagles on Lake Umbagog

My first trip to Lake Umbagog was unforgetable. I'm hooked!

a rainbow over the Androscogin River in 13 Mile Woods, Friday afternoon...

a loon on the Androscogin in 13 Mile Woods...

a moose crossing the road early Saturday morning through heavy fog...

    Blue vervain...

    water lillies...

    Arrowhead...

eagle's nesting tree. There's an adult next to the nest and a baby eaglet on a lower branch...

    adult eagle...

    eaglet...

adult flying off the nesting tree to go hunting...

    another adult eagle...

and another moose in the 13 Mile Woods at sunset...

Can't wait to return in autumn!

I love the close up of the adult eagle on the branch.

Were you in a canoe/kayak, or walking the shoreline.

This is one of the spots that is high on my list of places to really explore, but I'm have yet to do significant preliminary research...

Patrick! Those are absolutely beautiful! My brother camps there every summer, just got back last week, he calls it Lake Ohmygod!

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Jim, I explored by canoe. The small fraction of shoreline I saw would be extremely difficult to walk.

Gorgeous pictures as always!! There are a couple campsites that have a good view of the eagle's nest, but I hesitate to give away their numbers. It was hard enough to get a reservation this year!

We've got two camping trips to Umbagog planned before the snow flies. The wildlife is just amazing there!

    Glad you enjoyed your trip,
    Valerie
