Even more amazing than usual Patrick! I can't imagine fainting in a meadow and waking up with a moose looking down at me. So glad that everything turned out OK. Obviously the moose knew that you were a friend...

Thanks very much to everyone for the nice comments! I just love the colors of these meadows and bogs in early autumn. There is so much wildlife to see, especially at dawn and dusk, if you settle in and listen and look closely. And it's a great season for moose activity.
I am shooting with a Canon XTi with a Canon 70-300mm IS lens, and a Canon XSi with a Sigma 24-70mm lens.
A few of these were off a tripod, such as the second to last one because that was after sunset and there was not much light. I've decided to try a monopod for hiking and see what it can do.
Jim, thanks for the high compliment! You have really developed a special style of scenics with special light and atmosphere, as I said...Salgesque
happy autumn![]()
These are the treking poles I use that double as monopods. Extremely light.

As always terrific pictures!! I think they are right, the moose used you as a human salt lick while you were out!!I do hope you are feeling better though!! That must have really scared you that you passed out!! Don't you just hate it when your body gets ready for the "fight or flight" response, and then you fall like a brick? BTW...... I just got done studying that in my Anatomy & Physiology 1 class LOL.
