In the 20s here near Boston. I realized that as well dressed as I am when I go hiking, I never remember gloves or hat when I just leave the house to go to the store, and I usualy wear thin cotton clothing. I am so poorly dressed for the cold in everyday life -- why do I save the hiking gear for hiking? Maybe I should just wear it all the time..?

I am in Maine for a while and was walking the dog last week - cold every day. Now I am dressed in my hiking layers and very comfortable.

I said the same thing last week. I have all my hiking clothing in a duffel bag in the closet for my trips north when I could be using them when it is cold down here.

It was in the low 50's here today and that is good working weather. Glad the summer is over.
